How the race countdown works
One list, everywhere. Save a race here and the header on every page shows the next one with the days remaining. Hover the chip for all upcoming races; click it to open this list without leaving the page you are on. Up to three upcoming races are kept, sorted by date; past races drop into a done list you can clear.
What to enter. Pick a preset distance (5K, 10K, half, marathon, 50K, 100K) or type any distance in kilometres, add the race date and optionally a name and a note (bib pick-up time, hotel, the pace you promised yourself). The countdown counts whole days from today, so a race tomorrow shows "Tomorrow" and race day shows a flag.
Planning backwards. A countdown is most useful when it drives the training calendar. A common rule of thumb: 16–20 weeks out for a first marathon, 10–12 weeks for a half, 6–8 weeks to sharpen for a 5K or 10K you have run before. The last two to three weeks are a taper — volume down, intensity kept — and the final week is about sleep and logistics, not fitness. Use the split calculator to turn your goal time into checkpoint splits once the date gets close, and the race time predictor to sanity-check the goal against a recent result.
Privacy. Races are stored only in this browser's local storage — nothing is sent to a server and there is no account. Clearing site data removes them.
